Austrian Audio opened its doors on July 1st, 2017. Made up of former AKG staff after the closure of their legacy home in Vienna, they set out to create something new, challenging, and respectful to their heritage, while carrying on and upholding the reputation that had been built up over many years.
A classic “Made in Vienna” mic, stripped down to the essentials. The same as their OC818 but with a classic cardioid setup. Featuring a handmade CKR12 ceramic capsule with a single diaphram and no microprocessor (factory calibrated bias voltage). Every Austrian Audio OC18 and OC818 is within 1dB of each other, so any two of these microphones can be used a stereo pair!
