Product Information

The A4V is a two-way speaker incorporating a 4-inch long-throw woofer made from the same Multi-Layer Mineral (MLM) fibers as other A Series speakers plus the classic X-ART tweeter. Onboard DSP-based tuning capabilities let you easily dial in the perfect sound for your space.

With a frequency range of 52 Hz to 45 kHz, the A4V can accommodate a broad spectrum of audio applications—from producing podcasts to mixing string quartets—and will fit well within immersive and 3D setups.

The DSP-based functionality of all A Series monitors can be controlled remotely and in real time over ethernet using A Control. The application can be downloaded free of charge for Windows and MacOS in the MyADAM user area upon registration of an A Series monitor. The backplate of A Series monitors offers a variety of equalisation and tuning options, but quite often the backplate is not accessible from the listening sweet spot. Using A Control you can make changes to these settings from the comfort of your sweet spot and be confident in your decisions.

Made from a new glass fiber polymer compound, the A Series HPS waveguide enables the X-ART tweeter to disperse sound in space with controlled consistency. A Waveguide is a tapered recess that frames a tweeter to disperse sound in space in a more controlled manner. The A Series HPS (high-frequency propagation system) waveguide is constructed from resin and glass fibers, which are baked together under high temperatures to form a single piece that is specifically designed for X-ART dispersion characteristics. The waveguide is not easily excited by unwanted vibrations or resonances, contributing toward internal damping.

A Series monitors feature a flared-port design that optimises airflow and reduces port noise. With every cubic centimetre accounted for, the industrial inspired design can provide lower extension and higher efficiency in a smaller box. The cabinets have deeper bevelling to further reduce diffraction and thicker baffle walls to reduce unwanted cabinet vibrations.

A Series speakers are designed to be adaptable to changing requirements, preferences, and environments. For many people, the environments in which they create music are multipurpose, doubling as a bedroom or living room where acoustic treatment is often not an option. Using A Control, you can push advanced filters directly to an embedded platform onboard the monitors to help compensate for imperfect room acoustics, and this platform supports filters from industry leaders Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks SoundID Reference software and a measurement mic, you can create calibration curves specifically for your room and run them directly on your A Series monitors.

A Control Update: A Control 1.0 is here! This is a significant update of the free-to-download software for the real-time remote control and calibration of A Series speakers. This update greatly improves the stability of the application, includes a built-in firmware updater, and introduces some new features. The software also facilitates collaboration with Sonarworks that allows filters created in SoundID Reference to run directly within the DSP of the loudspeakers. An extended 60-day trial with the full functionality of SoundID Reference is available to all A Series customers.
